The new Canon 1D mark IV

Well Canon didn’t waste any time getting this new puppy out straight after the release of the hot Nikon D3s. I guess these two bad boys are competing with each other for the wedding/ sports market. I will have to have a good read of this pdf to see what it hasto offer but the initial signs are good. HD 1080p video, 16mp, and awesome hi iso performance. Don’t know about cost or anything but if you give Ben a call at Team Digital he will have all the relevant info. He things it is a “ball tearer”, I guess that means it is good, not bad in a vasectomy sense! He promised we will have one in December to try out and review so keep an eye on this blog! Just in, some of the frame rates in video mode -
1080p: 1920 x 1080 pixels at 30fps (actually 29.97fps)
1080p: 1920 x 1080 pixels at 25fps
1080p: 1920 x 1080 pixels at 24fps (actually 23.976fps)
720p: 1280 x 720 pixels at 60fps (actually 59.94fps)
720p: 1280 x 720 pixels at 50fps
SD: 640 x 480 pixels at 60fps (actually 59.94fps)
SD: 640 x 480 pixels at 50fps

they haven’t Markie, this is the 1D mark IV not the 1Ds Mark IV. I think the pixels have gone up. Vincent Laforet has got one again to try out and has made a pretty stunning video from it. He is frothing over it, so is Michael, looks like another spend coming up!! At least he is making some money now though!! Aparently the hi iso low noise is brilliant.

Awesome, Now you wait till the new 1ds comes out I rekon nearly 30mp full HD vid!! I don’t think Canon will really let Nikon get ahead, I think Canon just update as they see the competition updating.

I’m with Mark… seams strange the MP isnt bigger. Looks like just a beefed up 5D Mk II. Lets hope the extra beef is worth the extra $6000 this will be over the cost of a 5d Mk II.

I think it will come in around $6500 to $7000 but don’t quote me on that. It has some pretty cool features but yeah I’ll be waiting to see what the 1Ds mark IV might have to offer. I think it won’t be out for a whilst though, the market is full of new cameras at the moment so would be better to wait to see what comes out on top. 30 mp would be nice for single image captures. Time and money I think, we all just need time and money.
