OMG this Phase One has redefined photography for me. I have never seen anything like it. I guess the thing is I’ll get used to all that sharpness and dynamic Range. Will have to go back to the 5D every now and then to realise just how much of a jump these cameras really are. I have slowed down and worked on my techniques using the Phase so that is a good thing. Gone are the days of quick handheld snaps and sloppy workmanship. Time to be serious about quality.
This is a pic of my boy, who reluctantly stood still for 5 minutes, it must be horrible having to help poor old dad out every now and then. This image at 100% is stonkin!!

That’s quality, nice and sharp and great depth of field, how much sweet talking went into keeping your boy still, I usually get rolled back eyes and silly faces when I ask for a photo. Great lighting as well, is it all natural?
I thought that a Phase 1 was just a camera for old people…. those that like to work slowly.
You getting old
You’ll be wearing funny hats like Peter soon.

Congratulations on the new arrival CF. I can almost hear the words coming out of the young fella’s mouth, Yeah whatever Dad !!! hehehe . Serious workmanship and camera technique should = great pic’s, can’t wait some more stunning results. ( no pressure by the way )…. Now I just want to rush out and buy a D3x just to try and keep up a bit.
Cheer’s Pete.
I can almost feel your excitement from here. Looking forward to a landscape from the the ” BIG P “.
Luckily, your boy has inherited his good looks from his mother.
And just when you could have had a camera that had more than just 4 clunky grey buttons, Fletch…

Congrats CF, I could tell of your excitement the last couple of weeks…….just waiting in anticipation.
Looking forward to seeing some landscape stuff now!!
How sharp is that great detail all the way hmm looking forward to seeing it in action at Karijini CF.
I drove past Karijini today and its greening up nicely will put a shot up on my post so you can see should be awesome for the workshop.
Hasselblad is still better!! hehehehe
Nice CF. Congrats on the new tool. I hear the dynamic range on these is fantastic as well. The image certainly looks crisp, and you sound excited. Looking forward to seeing some awesome images.
Stonkin?????
I’m glad your son take after his mother CF!! hehe nice shot I hear medium format is like a drug mate!!
Hey CF, how are you coping without that green rectangle setting, and the little mountains and the head? You are going to be able to pull some gold out a lot of those out-the-car-window shots now with that resolution.
Wow the last time I saw a clean shot like that was when I got my Hasselblad about 40 years ago, can’t afford that now but the Hblad glass was phenominal showed a womans fascial hair at 100 paces. Good resolution CF enjoy the love affair.
Hey Christian I reckon you should reshoot this with your young bloke holding bolt-cutters instead of a tennis racquet!
