Photoshop CS5
Well hopefully this version will be better than the last. My experience was a little average with CS4 and it had some weird little glitches that would pop up and annoy me from time to time.
Les says that Photoshop was dumbed down in cs4 for the consumer market that didn’t really have a serious interest in colour and getting it right. Hopefully it has been fixed as a lot of people that know their sh1t were pissed off with that decision. Luckily I don’t know my sh1t so it didn’t affect me too much!! haha.
Benny at Team Digital said CS5 for him is Puppet Warp. He talked about how it can make a limp flower stand tall again, imagine what it will do for the porn industry!
Has anyone tried it yet, CS5 I mean, not the porn industry!! Keep it clean…………….. actually!!! Nah forget it!
The first person to get CS5 on their computer has to write a review for this blog, don’t worry it can sound dumb, I will be able to understand it then. The prize will be a personally signed Muzz Factor Joke book, with all your favourite muzzisms.

guess you were working on this post as i wrote a comment on the last one ahah. sure looks like cs5 will be good for photographers on the adobe site, but we wont know until someone trys it! I hear jetstar released $79 dollars return airfares to bali this week………what?
I think it would be great if the muzzman himself was the first to try CS5 and give us his highly reliable, unbiased and objective opinion. Whadya say Muzz.
I hope they fixed the way you set up contact sheets in cs5 back o the way it was done in cs3, in cs4 is sucks … As for all the new its in cs5 from all the vids I have been watching it will be a no brainer upgrade for me … after karijini …
I should not type so late at night … spelling is shocking …
Christian,
As one of the beta testers for CS5, I can say that is is FAST! That was the first thing I noticed. Second, there are far too many tools than I’ll ever need, but I am not a graphic artist, so the 3D stuff and all the associated vector tools are ignored by me. Third, it will be a while before the plug-in filters from 3rd parties will be re-written for CS5, so if those are your mainstay in your workflow, stay with CS4 until they do. I am happy to say that scripts and actions that do wonders on CS4 also work in CS5. So, as a huge fan of the way that Peter Eastway processes his images, I am quite happy with CS5 (at least the beta version).
All in all, I think CS5 is worth the wait. I am not sure what dumbing down you felt CS4 had vice CS2 or 3, but this latest version is certainly not Elements Plus.
I’ve even gone so far as to get a new laptop which will take advantage of all the capabilities of CS5. Yeah, here in the States, Apple has just come out with the new MacBook Pros (today) and I’ve ordered a nice 15″ beauty which replaces my 4 year old 17″ monster. Okay, so it isn’t on a par with your PhaseOne P65+, hell it isn’t even in the same solar system, but I make advances where I can. Now I just hope the laptop gets here before we take off for Australia for our year Down Under with you all crazy and wonderful mates!
From the vid’s I have seen it looks great. Even the HDR tool in photoshop looks like it has had a full re working to meet the competition. Puppet warp looks interesting and that Content Aware Fill.. man that is worth the upgrade in itself. For $307 buck Aust to upgrade as Neil said it is a no brainer. You can pre order now but wont get it until Mid May and thats for the download upgrade as well.
Yeah that content aware looks good, How much will a full copy cost you think?
Think the full price is what it has always been about a grand. But if you shop around you can get it cheaper than that.
Christian that is the crappest prize you’ve ever offered on this blog – half a page of inane one-liners stolen from other people is not worthy of you.
However I can say I am looking forward to the new “Sexy Fog” filter in CS5. Having tried landscapes (had to get up too early for my liking), seascapes (that salty water made my thighs chafe where they rub together) I thought I’d follow Brent Pearson’s latest idea (http://brentbat.wordpress.com/2010/04/02/video-making-of-bodyscape/) but couldn’t be bothered hanging around beautiful nude women all day. With Puppet Warp I can pull photos of my own butt into shape, get the Sexy Fog filter cranked up, send the file over to Merv for buffing and polishing and I don’t even have to get out of bed!
haha nice one Muzz, puppet warp looks awesome!
PS I mean’t that I stole them by the way, not you
I’m expecting my copy of the CS5 suite when I get back from Hamilton Island on Friday – at least that’s what I have been promised. I will keep you posted.
We were finally able to run a non beta version today and Ive got one thing to say” FAST”.
Its is amazingly fast, we ran it on a I5 iMac with 16Gb and we were able to allow CS5 to use 12gb. That the secret 64bit allow us to access more Ram than we know what to do with. Cant wait to have more of a play later this week. Also how could we forget about Puppet Warp what a great name.
Believe me you wont be disappointed.
As a digital imaging specialist that started out in 1994, I’m very unimpressed with the changes to shortcuts from CS4. Yes you can create your own shortcuts, but if you’re a freelancer working on a number of different machines this becomes a real pain in the bum.
Furthermore there’s alot of gimmicks. I think content aware and this 3D stuff is ok, but it can’t replace the human canny, nor does it actually work that well. Unless you’re a happy snapper that is.
