I had the best morning in the sand dunes on the way back home. The sky was awesome, the dunes were awesome, I was awesome! haha well considering I slept on the back seat of the Cruiser and woke up at 3am after driving for 15 hours and not eating dinner or breakfast! Convinced???
I love this shot. Love sand dunes, love taking pictures.

bloody hell. you are back, and not mucking round are ya!
great shot. real mystical feel to the image. really like it!
thanks Stephen, yeah I like how light and clean it is. I had brilliant light and just took the coolness out of the sand with a bit of selective colour adjustments.
very nice!
This shot is seriously lacking in unawesomeness
Thats a belter of an image indeed! That detail in the ripples is just too good!
What a beautiful soft colour. Great shot Fletch.
Beautiful soft pastel colours.
What about removing that dark strip above the sand dune?
Great images you are getting Fletch.
Wow
Great colour in this shot for sure, Would have been nice and peaceful by the looks.
thanks guys, unawesomness is so awesome Muzz. Tom I thought about removing it but in the hi res image you can actually see two hills off in the distance that make up the black line. Gives it a bit of depth, well it will at 60″
Pete it was so peaceful, except for some sweaty photographer running around the place marking the dunes!
Arrrh nice one mate. Unfortunately one of us couldn’t get out of bed he he. Sorry I missed it!
Thats alright Dave you were pretty sick and after 3 weeks of ice coffees and packet custard I would be pretty unwell too! Hope your on the mend.
“love taking pictures” = agreed
OOOH YEEEEEES i like this one
you know when you get a good shot as you feel all excited just like you won lotto or got to vote Colin Barnett out of office!
Absolutley stunning CF!!! Glad you made it back safe! Looking forward to seeing more images!
Hey CF this an APPA contender!!! Gold buddy!!
Thanks Kymbo!
APPA Gold hey Antonio, big call but I’ll take it!!
what a a sensational sky!!! Beautiful mate.
Hey Fletch your own comments say it all. Cracker image there mate, get this printed BIG, I have a wall for it !!
Want one in the gallery ASAP!!!!
yeahhh Nice one CF!
very very nice mate – I’d Love to see this puppy large !
Now that’s what I call a beautiful image little buddy…beautiful scene and beautifully captured!
It seems the game is on…with Jamie shooting Wide Open Spaces and now you mate capturing sand dunes this good I better up my game to stay ahead of the pack hehe!
Pastel sand dune bliss, very nice. Very serene, and foot print and vehicle tracks free well done. They don’t really qualify as dunes though do they, tiny little sandbox of Cervantes
I LOVE this, it is awesome. When I look at it I almost feel like I’m in the picture standing on the dunes, and a sense of peacefulness overcomes me! That’s what it’s all about – cracking
thanks guys, I think I’ll get a print done up this week to see how it goes.
Good to hear from you Markie, looks like Flemming is going to get competitive in PNG. I think the banter on board is going to be priceless. Flemming the dunes aren’t like Namibia but there are a few pretty big areas to explore and if you get really low they look so much bigger!!
Thanks Joanna, I’m glad it appeals to you too. I think I got lucky!

Like I told you Fletch this is one of my favourite images in a long time, along with that incredible aerial of Cable Beach . . . by the way no kuck in these mate!
We make our own luck
Very true Muzz
Thanks Tone, it means a lot coming from you. What is Kuck BTW?
We do indeed Jo.
Wow, sweet dunes. It’s hard to find dunes without footprints… without cutting them out in photoshop. Good to see some love to your occupation, makes me want to be a photographer all over again
plenty up near Cervantes Stakky. Mate you should be working towards being a photog. With your youth and your eye you will be one to watch. Don’t just sit there make it happen, go son, your time is now!
WOW. Truly amazing. Love to see it in the gallery . . .
Superb shot! And I rarely use the word Superb! Yes, a print of this one will be great to see.
BTW, if I am not mistaken “Kuck” is Afrikaans for “sh**”!!
no that’s “kak” meaning sh*t – “vokking kak” is one of the first Afrikaans sentences I learned
“Vok” pronounced “fock” means, well take a guess
Thanks Flemming for clearing that up! I always like to increase my vocabulary
Wow Christian you are amazing. Your shots are just so awesome and it inspires me to keep pushing on with my landscape photography. One day in the not toooooo distant future I will be half as good. YAH I’d be pretty happy about that.
I like this 10
I’m Kak handed!
Andrea, sometimes it is just pure luck you get a great sunrise and you’re in the right place. A bit of technique went into this but it is nothing you couldn’t learn to do also. Keep shooting that is the answer.
Thanks Hazel, first time I have got a 10 out of 10. I assume that it was out of 10?
Thanks Christian,
I definately am shooting as much as I can. It’s difficult keeping up with the post production side of things as that obviously takes alot longer than taking the shots but hey the more I keep doing it the quicker I will get. I bought Scott Kelby’s book too and the magazines that you use aswell, WOW there is soooo much you can do, so you better look out cause my photoshop skills will be getting pretty awesome soon LOL.
Andrea
you have got me shaking in my boots!!
Somehow I don’t think you need to be LOL
No that was 10 out of 100……yes joking 10/10
