just a reminder that we are on stateline tonight. Tune in at 7.30pm on the ABC to see three handsome gents and one unremarkable landscape. I believe there will be some interesting news on James price point that you can’t miss. I won’t see it as I will be driving home.

There will be at least two handsome gents mate don’t know about you CF hehe
Being on the east coast we probably will have to watch Stateline NSW
However, on the ABC website, we can watch it. Probably not live but likely available by Saturday. So for those not in WA or those in Denmark
, we can still see the three wise gents on the ABC (couldn’t bring myself to calling you handsome :-p). Just go to:

Already got it programmed into TIVO to tape it for me. But I think Andre is right it will be NSW stateline as the info says nothing about this topic.

Hi Janelle, haha just a few wrinkles, some grey hair and a lot more photos under my belt. Thanks for stopping by the blog. Hope your well.
Watched it too and thought it was an excellent lead-in with the premiers ‘unremarkable’ line and then the stunning shots. Well done to all concerned.

Just finished watching it, well done guys, liked the t-shirt CF.
Just watched the show on JPP…. Great !!!….. How stupid did Barnett look, if i was him i would start to be worried about the ground swell that is starting too happen here in Broome and around the country.
Thanks again too everyone who could make it and thanks for everyone’s support…. see you on the next trip to JPP
Excellent piece of journalism for a change, I thought both sides of the story were given equal time and I agree with Nigel that Mr Barnett came out looking pretty silly. Man I wouldn’t like to be on the wrong side of Geoff Cousins, He sounds like a real arse kicker and he seems like an on the ball straight shooter. I’m going to print my JPP panos even bigger now and hang one on my lounge room wall so I can really relive my time up there.
Great stuff.
Great stuff…well done. I agree with Hodgy…wouldn’t want to mess with Geoff Cousins!
Excellent, just watched it. Geoffrey Cousins sounds very cool, gives me hope to see him fighting. Loved the opening with the “unremarkable intelligence” remark from Geoffrey. I hope Barnett ends up regretting and choking on those words forever. A well cut intelligent piece that remained somewhat neutral but still came off making Barnett sound very unintelligent and greedy, short term thinking and Geoffrey Cousins is spot on.
It was great to see Nigel and Christian and JPP, I had the feeling of ‘home’ and can’t wait to get there. Some awesome stills at the end as well.
There is always hope, never give up. 2-3 more plants at JPP in 10 years? Kimberley will be ruined forever, it’s now or never to stop this.
Show anyone those images of the “unremarkable” coastline and I think their immediate reaction would be “UNWHAT!!”… and I hope that is the reaction that I hope you want to evoke.
Good stuff Christian and others. It was great to see the lead in acknowledge that the story was triggered by the photographer’s concern – hopefully more people will now sit up and take notice having had a taste of the beauty of it. I think the story showed well how a remarkably stupid politician can differ from an unremarkably stupid one and I think it also showed how an “unremarkably” spectacular coast doesn’t really differ from a remarkably spectacular one, and deserves the same consideration. I sincerely hope that there will be a mounting pressure on the politicians and industry to consider alternatives and that it happens sooner rather than later.
Great article on the ABC, fantastic bit of publicity for the Kimberley cause, well done fellas. I thought Geoff Cousins statement about jumped up politicians was particularly poignant , they are only around for a short time, and they are only interested in their own little little 5 minutes of fame, but the rest of us have to live with the damage they do forever after. The kimberley is precious, it needs to be preserved or we will be remembered as the generation who allowed one of the last pieces of pristine wilderness to disappear!
good points made Muzz and Adam. It is up to our generation to make changes. We are it, no one else is going to save us!
Muzz you nailed it, just because JPP isn’t as spectacular as Mitchell Falls doesn’t mean it isn’t important. In fact it is less unremarkable than Most of Perths beaches and half the ones up and down the WA coastline. It is one of the few places you can swim on the Kimberley coast without being stung or eaten so that is pretty remarkable.
Not being eaten has got to be a positive! i think its the very fact that whole Dampier Peninsula West coast (including JPP) is so differant to the rest of the Kimberley that makes it even more precious. Barnett is right, the rest of the Kimberley coast doesn’t look like that… in fact, that area is the only place you will find those huge Pindan cliffs, they are only there because that whole Peninsula is an ancient river delta (thanks Nigel), it is in fact unique, thats gotta be reason enough to preserve it i reckon.
It is different Adam you are right. The Pilbara is so totally stuffed now I can’t imagine letting anyone do that to the Kimberley.
Yep, the Pilbara is a great example of industry best practice… get the ore out of the ground and on to a ship as fast as possible, quick quick, before anyone notices the damage we are doing and the insane profits we are making… Mining is a necessary evil, i don’t think anyone can debate that, the real enemy is greed and a lack of moral responsibility, these people, people like Barnett, need to be made accountable for what they do.
Anyway, good on you for taking some positive action, bloody well done!
