Well the Landscape 500 Awards have been run and won. Congratulations to all the prize winners from what was a very strong collection of images. As Christian is away at the moment he has asked me to reveal the identity of the top ten images from the competition. He will obviously post some more details when he has the ability to get internet service.
Commiserations to those who didn’t make it to the final hurdle but as you can see there are some very talented photographers out there. Hopefully you all should be or already have your score for the images you entered. This is a good indication as to where you are with your photography. Remember though, even the best photographers in Australia bomb out in competitions so dont feel you cant take a good photo. Hey there is always the next years Landscape 500 which promises bigger and better rewards for all you keen photog’s.

Outstanding images! Congratulations to all who entered and particularly those who featured in the top 10.

Oh and btw..congrats to the winners!…well done!
Wow they are spectacular!!!! Man I wish I could of captured something like that, would love some feedback on my pics I would like to learn more.
Congratulations to the top 10 images, fantastic work there guys!
Congrats Jamie, a well deserved outcome and a another run on the board for the Nikon shooters out there he he
Well done to all the other place getters as well, some fine images for sure.
A big congrats to Jamie and the top 10 images. All very worthy winners! I am looking forward to seeing a gallery of some of the other entries at some stage. I am extremely happy with an 80/100 and silver award for my strongest entry. Seeing as though Jamie’s image scored 89 there must have been some close competition as I unfortunately did not place in the top 10 so there could not have been much separating the prize winners! It’s been a great competition. A big thanks to Christian for organising and the judges for devoting time out of their busy schedules. Congrats to the winners again and good luck for next year’s! Craig
Congrats to all the winners!! They are all gorgeous pics, I dont know how they picked a winner out of all those wonderful pics!!
Very nice images – Gongrats to the winners!!!!
Very nice images – Gongrats to the winners!!!!
Some very good and deserving pics in there. Congratulations to the winners, nice work!
Well done indeed everyone…..the images are all very diverse and unique in their own right.
I loved that image from the first time I saw it Jamie, so it is no surprise to me that you came through with it!
Enjoy the True North mate as I am sure you will! Looking fwd to seeing some cool images from the trip.
Cheers,
True North Mark
Congrats to all of the winners in the comp. Awesome work in there. Thanks for organising it Christian and to the judges..
Jamie’s image is an absolute stunner, I hadn’t seen it before! Congrats mate!
I’m stoked to have scraped into top ten!!
Don’t you mean that Dan’s ‘proud’ to have scraped into the top 10 mate!
he he
Haha Yeah mate your not the first to crack that one!
well it is great to see the winners, it is my first time too and they are all stunning. Well done Jamie on the big prize. True North is going to blow your mind mate, I just said to my wife, I miss True North!
Sorry Stephen, looks like you got the booby prize. We will have to make a time soon to get together. Ben, Grant and Rob, fantastic images and hope you enjoy your prizes.
I am away in Tasmania for another 10 days but will organise to call all of the winners when I get back. And to the other top ten winners, every one of those shots could have taken out the top prize.
I am hoping to get the top 20 images printed out and displayed at Team Digital. We will make a night of it so that would be a good event to get to and see everyones work in the flesh.
See you soon everyone.
It would be great to see all the photos that were entered aswel
Incredible image Jamie.Well deserved win. My thanks also to Christian, the judges and the prize sponsors for all that was done in organising, and sponsoring this great contest.
And Christian I would not regard the 4th prize as the booby prize! Giga-Pans and printers will be out of date in a few years, but the inspiration from a day of walking in the footsteps of a master photographer will last a lifetime…
steve
Holy S*** i wouldn’t have stood a chance against those. Nice images, people!
**and a big congrats to winners, of course. Some of those landscapes are classics, National Geographic standard i say
Nice, if too dark for my taste. I guess this was the theme this year.
Ah Steve, mate with smooth talk like that you will go a long way!
Did you enter Stakky because you have some pretty great stuff you know.
Yes, congats to the winning photo, some great images being presented. My first photo comp and chuffed to
get a silver award. Incentive to step up to the plate again next year.
Hi Christian.
Firstly, I see you’ve attracted some very nice photography. I wasn’t able to enter this competition unfortunately – next year hopefully!
Again, i loved the top ten photos and the winner deserved it. However, I thought it was only open to non-professionals. What do you regard as non-professional? This could possibly be a compliment to these two guys. However, it seems to me that both Dan Proud (http://www.danproud.com.au/fineart) and Jamie Nicolaou (http://actionpics.com.au/main/page_landscapes.html) are professional photographers. Wouldn’t that have made them ineligible to compete?

Hi James
Both these guys don’t earn over $20k a year from photography that is the requirement for being a pro in my books.
Any chance of some stats on how many photos were entered total, and how many bronze and silver awards were given out? im sure everyone would like to know
Wow. Bit surprized. Thank you.
There are some fantastic images here, all very worthy.
