Hi all Neal is auctioning off one of his prints to help Tone get back on his feet. See the post below from is blog. Great idea mate good on you.
Recently a photographer friend of mine Tony Middleton had his home broken into. Needless to say all his camera and computer gear worth several $1000′s of dollars was stolen. What made this so devastating was the thieves also stolen all his external hard drives with 10 years worth of images stolen.
To say he is gutted is an understatement and totally understandable, we all would be I am sure.
To try and help Tony out with some replace costs and get him back on his feet again I would like to auction off a print of mine 30×30 inches with all the proceeds going towards Tony’s rebuilding effort.
The image in I would like to offer for auction recently won a Silver award at this years International Aperture Awards Open Section Landscapes.
I would like to start the bidding at $100 and will close the bid in 2 weeks time from today.
If you feel you can help by placing a bid on the image or recommending my page throughout your friends so they maybe interested we appreciate the help we can get …

Yodaman there Neal! Donations are still coming into the account I set up so I feel that collectively we will make a difference for Tony and get back out there doing what he does so well!
Cheers Christian … Hopefully we can raise a little more than we have at present for Tony … Spoke with him yesterday and his spirits have been lifted somewhat just a total shame about his HD’s …

What a great idea it is really fantastic to see people pull together to help out a friend. What an awful thing to happen though losing all his images – they are irreplaceable. Doesn’t Tone have home and contents insurance to cover the material costs though?
No Joanna…he doesn’t! He was going through some tight times and only recently decided to save some insurance dollars and run the gauntlet. That of course has now bitten him right in the butt.
Hindsight is a wonderful things isn’t it…in the mean time we will collectively do what we can for him.
That is just typical – how awful!!! Maybe someone could organize some kind of fundraiser evening like a quiz night or a photography training day with all the proceeds going to Tony?

I’d love to Mark but things are pretty tight for me at the moment too so I’m just not in a position to be able to do that. I hope you get lots of donations though and Tony can at least afford to get some of his gear back
