To show I still know how to take pretty landscapes I have included a couple from our last workshop there with Tony Hewitt and Pete Eastway. We will be running it again next year. Let me know if your keen to get on the waiting list. Top one is Dales Gorge the bottom Hancock Gorge. Shot on the magnificent Phase One of course. I am printing up heaps of new Phase stuff for the new release of images to be on display at my Margaret River gallery from easter.
Phase One 645DF Body, P65+ back, 80mm Schneider lens, the best combination I have found for superb quality you have to see printed big.

Insane pics mate. Really would love to see that first one up close. You can just tell its full of wicked detail to feast your eyes on!
yep it is pretty cool Dan
The boy’s still got it!
yep you always know how to ride a bike, the good thing is you don’t need to wear lycra when taking photos.
Jesus mate I thought I was standing there for a moment at Hancock Gorge!
Colours are great.
Just the way I like them , green greens and red reds, beautiful.
knew you would like Merv! they are for you buddy. I’ll get you some prints, just give me your credit card details and I’ll post them out!
Very very noice!
Second one looks similar to a shot i saw from there not long ago, but cant remember who took it? maybe it was Peter?
Actually it was on your site after you uploaded all the new images in your online galleries haha
doh!
The bottom image is my favorite out of the two. The cool tones of the water against the rocks are eye catching.
thanks Leigh, wish I had shot it on the fuji too. Hey does the X100 not have an anti aliasing filter on it?
Ah yes “jaggies” don’t we all hate them!

That’s why they bought out this fantastic function called RAW on the X100. Can’t wait for Fujifilm/Adobe to get the RAW converter up and going that would solve this little hiccup. You will get a bit of aliasing on any JPEG from any camera
Sounds like you should be shooting RAW and JPEG so you can “future proof” your images
Keep the awesome imagery coming CF!
no AA is a good thing. The Phase doesn’t have it.
I like the top one. Amazing detail. Can’t wait till it comes to Margaret’s.
will be there but only as a 30″ pano! Tony.
Great to see some new images and posts up mate – both would be awesome in the flesh ! The thumbs look way flatter than the larger files.
cheers,
getting a big flex done of the top image. Should look sweeeeeet!
Couple of nice captures there Mr Fletcher … I like the top one a little more …. I managed to get my first image up from Karijini yesterday, the colours are so much better this year …. I see the thumbs change tones when clicked to view the larger preview … I have found a solution to that problem …. if interested just hollier …
Wow – the detail in the Dales Gorge pic is just incredible. Will that one be in yours Dunsborough gallery for Easter at all, or just the MR gallery?
Kris it will be in Margarets gallery for easter but probably not in Dunsborough. We have ordered it as a 70″ flex on Aluminium so it will be pretty special I think. That will take up to a month to get in the gallery.
Wow, that second image is rad. Like Karijini by macro.
Also, just saw your new “1 only” category. Interesting concept… be cool to put some panoramas up that your willing to sacrifice, and charge really really limited edition prices. Could work!!
The panos are worth too much to sell as a one off. What is there is for those wanting something a little left of centre. A collectors piece that people can talk about ” you paid what for that?”
totally Stakky!
Hey Christian, great to have you back!!
Thanks David
The top one is a nice and good example of landscapes do not always need a horizon (also saves you leveling it, heh) and a good composition. Good 3D depth. Gotta be a bin somewhere in amongst those trees!
