As a kid I grew up going to Leighton and Cottesloe Beach for swims. I remember driving past these tanks and thinking I hope they don’t blow up. Well they never did. I also remember thinking I’ll never get to drive because there won’t be enough petrol left when I get old. Now I wish it did run out and for the past 40 years we had been running our cars on something other than oil.

I remember them well too, the smell was also very distinctive when you drove past them!
You are certainly working on the out there stakes at the mo mate!!
All good but…are you sure you haven’t got man flu? It is very serious if you have you know!
I like this shot. I think I would love that little camera as well, nearly up there with a Nikon.
Even if we did run our cars on something other than petrol, we would still need the oil for other important things like plastics and, dare I say it, carbon fibre and polycarbonate that girds your precious P65+ and your tripod. Oil is not inherent evil, mate, just how we abuse it.
I always wanted to climb those tanks when I was a kid but wasn’t daring enough
We had some similar where I grew up in the UK. I was terrified of Space men (today I would say space people) living in them.
This image is beautiful…… love it.
