I have been looking at the work of Bill Henson in recent days and have gained some inspiration from what he does and why. I recommend you check his work yourself it is beautiful and so different to what we are used to. His landscapes are amazing, lots of black which is totally against what I have been doing in the past. I have been going for detail, show everything. Bill hides stuff away from the viewer which adds to the mystery and what he is trying to say with his work. Don’t discount it, this guy sells work for tens of thousands of dollars. It is true Fine Art Photography!
I took this image yesterday whilst I was waiting for the rain to stop. I had the back tailgate open and I was sheltering from getting wet. As I looked up I thought what the hell. I saw an image my good mate Tony Hewitt took in the US recently that had all these gulls in it. It was typical creative genius from Tony that I have gained inspiration from. Thanks Tony.

and I believe they are pretty fond of themselves too!
someones go to be fond of us CF!!
I am quite surprised I really like this … Usually not my thing, but I think the clear sharpness of the birds against those very nice clouds makes one look a little closer at the image … Bet it looks real nice printed as a 40 inch …
it is going to 60″ tomorrow mate. I even got the nod from the great Les Walkling so I’m wrapped. Two great shooters who like it now.
Make a great metallic print CF? What are you printing on?
Probably baryta or photo rag
Nice one CF! looks like you are having the same cloud action that we are in Karratha
A bit Hitchcockian, in a good way! Make that three great shooters who like it
Muzz I get scared every time I look at this pic. Imagine getting poo’d on by one of these guys. Terminal velocity doo doos on the Phase could be fatal.
there has been some great storm clouds at late and its not winter yet. roll on winter
Having now seen your very large print of this, this rocks! Those clouds are looking into a breathing living thing.
