Last night I picked up the Australian Landscape Photographer of the Year award for 2011. Michael got the award with me for Fusion Photographer of the year. His video he put together from our shoot at the Midland Rail yard was brilliant and they played it for the 400 guests at the awards.
I have finally achieved one of my goals and it feels great. More on the night when I get back home later today. I have a lot of catching up to do as well as almost 1000 emails. Sorry most of these might end up deleted! I will have to start again!
Also got my “masters” last night so now you must refer to me as Christian Fletcher “Master Photographer” haha. If you don’t I won’t talk to you!!!! :0)
Thanks to all the judges who gave me good scores and to all the APPA team and Canon for providing for us such an amazing event. You wouldn’t believe the work that goes into it.
Finally to Tony Tone, the MC, you are a legend mate and a great friend. See you back in WA
Oh and that Eastway bloke, your ok I guess!! nah love your work too.
Almost forgot Tom with the pink feather boa! The sexiest man in photography alive!!! Thanks Tommy for being you.

I saw the image on the Herald Sun’s slideshow of the AIPP winners. I must be a cretinous dunce, but I don’t get it. Granted, the image was pretty small and the resolution sucked, but was it an Altered Landscape? Buildings and a tree and a couple of people in the fog?
Maybe that’s why I’ll probably never win any awards, I just don’t see what the fuss is about. I’ll take one of your shots of the Stirling Ranges or Lake Pedder over that one any day.

As usual there are some very odd winners in my opinion.
