Hey everybody. Just a friendly reminder that this Saturday is the Fusion Workshops run by myself in conjunction with Team Digital. There are still seats available so dont miss out on the opportunity to pick up a few tips on using DSLR’s for video and how to go about creating an edit from all your amazing footage.
Hope to see you there.

Im running two workshops at Team Digital’s training centre, Lord Street, Perth on the 24th of September. The first one kicks off at 9.00am to 12.00pm and is designed more for those who are starting out in the world of shooting video with DSLR cameras. I basically give tips and processes I use to capture and edit video from DSLR’s.
The second workshop, starting at 1.00pm and running to 5.00pm on the same day, is more focused on editing using Final Cut Studio Pro 7 (Not Final Cut X) highlighting editing techniques I use to create my videos. It’s not an advanced course in the use of Final Cut Pro and it’s affiliated programmes (Color, Motion, DVD studio pro) so if you have been editing on this suite for a few years there will probably not much new on offer. It’s purely an easy introduction into editing and a good heads up for those who have got the programme but just haven’t had the time to nut it out for themselves.
Give Ben at Team Digital a call to organise a booking.
Hope to see you there.

It will be good to see you there Dan
Sounds great Mike. I’d be there if it weren’t for the 18 hour flight
How are you liking FCP X so far? I’ve read lots of negative reviews but have to say it works great for my workflow. Especially fast and intuitive editing and the fact that you can start editing the files right out of the camera and then convert to ProRes later if you feel like it. But maybe the fact that I like this new version means I’m not a real “pro”, whatever that means…
Hey Armand. I’m not using X yet so I cant comment. There is a fair bit of negative press for sure. The course will be on 7 so I’m hoping there is still a demand for it. There should be as anyone who has been editing prior to x’s release would of been using FCP 7 or some other PC based editing suite.
I’m no pro also so I’ll probably like it too.
Cheers
Mike
My mistake… I read your post a little too quickly. I’m pretty sure you would like X given what I know about your style of working.
