A few weeks ago I started a discussion on the possibility of Dunsborough and surrounding areas being powered by renewable energy. I said 100% renewable, hell if we are going to do it we may as well aim for the top.

I have been doing some research and found a fantastic website that basically outlines all the things that need to be done for the project to be successful. To say I was feeling a little overwhelmed is an understatement. This project will be huge, it will require lots of work from the community and expertise from so many different areas.

My first thoughts were, do I have time for this, should I just continue along the same comfortable path I am on and hope the climate will get better by the action of others, or should I commit to doing my bit ? Tucking my kids into bed and looking into their eyes it became clear. We must do something, every single person who enjoys this lifestyle we have. Everyone with kids who look to them for guidance, knowledge and security. I want to do this for my kids, I will try because there are no alternatives.

In the southwest we have a community of amazing people. We know we can do it, we just have to want to do it. So the question is, who’s in?

FIJI WORKSHOP

FIJI WORKSHOP

I have travelled to some pretty amazing places over the years filming and I’m hoping to share these experiences with you in the amazing tropical Fiji Island of Mana.

It still amazes me the advances in digital technology and how it’s never been easier to create content which is both compelling and of the highest quality.

But it’s not about the gear, it’s about what you can create from your inner emotions. I was not wanting to say heart as that sounds too cheesy.

I want to show you how conjuring up the experiences life can deal you can be used to produce emotive, inspiring content. The camera is just the start. What you do in the editing suite steers the film down the path you want it to follow.

The way you shoot, the music you select, the grade you place on the footage, all works towards creating emotion, meaning, purpose.

Why not invest in three days of learning from not only me (The Video Guy) but an array of talented individuals who are all amazing in there own genre of photography and back it up at the end of the day with a cocktail or cold beer if your like me, maybe a snorkel in the ocean or a swim in the resort pool or maybe hang out with me and do some shooting around the island after all the formal days learning is out the way and join a community of like minded people who live to shoot.

The best part is the price. Never has this much knowledge been this cheap to tap into. Follow the link below to receive a substantial incentive to build your knowledge and be inspired by the likes of Jay and Varina Patel, Colby Brown, Benjamin von Wong, Elia Locardi and of course the bag of technical knowledge Nick Rains and master of making sense of why we take photographs Tony Hewitt.

I’m just the icing on the cake haha!

Oh! by the way….I forgot to mention I’m the twin brother of Christian Fletcher so if you want to get any secret squirrel tips from me which Christian has under wraps I may be able to share them with you. Just don’t tell Christian.

Photoshop 101 For Kids

Photoshop 101 For Kids

I have cause for concern about my job now.
I had my hand put up to give a couple of photoshop 101 lessons at my children’s primary school and had a great time with the classes I taught. There are quite a few photo wizards on their way up I think
Quite a bit different from my normal adult workshops but good fun and at the end of the day the kids had made me some thank you cards.
Feeling all warm and fuzzy.
