Two spots left for the 6th of September workshop

If you want to know what it is I do with my time come along to the next course. It is a very relaxed atmosphere and actually fun. If you can put up with me rabbiting on about pixels and prints this is for you. If you are unsure just ask others who have been to previous courses on this blog. I have paid them all to say nice things about me!!!

Sun Pictures, Broome

More of the black and white stuff as inspired by Flemming on his blog. Went to see Get Smart that night. Great being outdoors but it chilled down a bit. Single image capture, converted to B&W in camera raw then tweaked in Photoshop.

Back From Coral Bay

Hi all. Just got back in from a trip to Coral Bay and trying to catch up with everything going on. I am off again this weekend to run a photography workshop in Port Hedland with three other photographers and 50 or so students. Organised by a company called FORM. Should be fun. When in Coral Bay we didn’t catch any fish so I was inspired to draw some. This is a salmon I drew in Corel Painter and overlaid on a pic of an old shed I shot in Broome. I am starting to get some ideas about future compilations of this type. It is good to be home but I have so much editing to do it is very daunting. New images from the trip soon. Cheers

Furniture photos

Took these photos for a local furniture artist named Nathan Day. His work is brilliant and he currently has an exhibition on at Monart Gallery in Dalkeith. Check it out if you have some time. Had to really think when working these shots. Wanted to put a black gradient behind the furniture and keep the shadows on the floor. Did a bit of fooling around but unfortunately forgot how I did it so I can’t share it with you. Typical of my memory!!

Re-cycling

Hi Christian,

I just thought you might like to post this sometime on your blog.

“You can now drop off your used or empty laser and inkjet cartridges at participating Australia Post, Officeworks, Harvey Norman, Tandy, Dick Smith Electronics and Powerhouse outlets. Any type of toner or ink cartridge from a fax, photocopier or printer will be accepted in the Planet Ark drop off bins”.

Cheers,

Hazel

For those of you who didn’t know. Every little bit counts. Good on you Hazel for the tip! I rode my bike to work today, mind you it is only about a km!! I’m going to try and see how many days I can go without using a car. Getting photos will be a problem though! Will start after I get back from Coral Bay, so long suckers!!! :-)

Answer and winner of the Patterns in Nature Comp

The winner of my new Bell gorge photo is Melissa Larson. She was picked out of the barrel. Thanks to all those who entered and made it a fun competition. Big thanks to Scotty from GPS webdesign for finding a pic of Marilyn Monroe that looks just like the pattern. As soon as I flew over this formation it was so her! Freaky likeness I think.
Congratulations Melissa hope you like your photo. Send me your postal address when you can.

My gallery on Google Maps

click to see where my gallery is in Dunsborough It is the two story place diagonally across from the video Store with the rusted steel on the front. This is an old photo as the building being constructed has been finished for over 6 months. Makes the town look pretty crappy though!
