This is a photo I took last night of the new concept to compliment the True North cruises. You can rent this luxurious pad for $10,000 per week. Next time you guys come down to shoot some pics you have somewhere to stay. I have to say it is pretty impressive inside with a creek flowing through the centre of the house, a spa and sauna, Jahroc furniture and even some Ken Duncan photos on the walls. Will have to get them changed to CF’s after my trip to the Kimberley coast. Oh and by the way, if your wondering, I have bought shares in True North!!!……………………. just kidding.

When I was in Perth a few weeks back I had time to take the kids to the Zoo. I guess you will be seeing more animals over the coming weeks, no sheep though. 400mm handheld still nice and sharp. Its a great place to get pics and entertain the kids. Poor animals though having 3 to 5 year olds teasing them all day every day.!

I must say last night was fun. The sky was fantastic and I thought I would head to Wyadup rocks to get a good sunset. Unfortunately I put myself in the way of a huge thundercloud. I was miles from the car looking at this cloud heading my way, mint!! I saw a small strike of lightning, great, might jag one in the shot. I got set up took a few pics then whack!!! I massive blot came down in front of me! Hmm, do I stand still with the metal tripod and get the shot of the century or bolt……………… ok I bolted!! I didn’t look back but could see the ground in front of me light up with each strike. Lets just say a quarter of a mile record was broken getting back to the car. After retreating to the safety of Smiths Beach I shot back to Wyadup and watched all hell break loose. That bolt was just about where I was standing I think. They say only the good die young so you can imagine how scared I was. One shot on the 16-35mm that was wet!!

I know what your thinking, where can I get a autograph from these lads! Settle down people, there’s plenty to go round. This was taken late in the afternoon on Friday with the other guys on the Stirlings trip. Looks like I could have been all alone except we were huddled around these grass trees together trying to get the best angle. I am going to show how I arrived at this shot on my courses coming up next week. Still a few spots available for Tuesday night if you can make it.

This is the hardest thing for me so I love the challenge it presents. Just when you were thinking the landscapes are back I slip in another illustration. Was looking at some amazing artwork from a girl living in Poland. She will spend a month on one piece, that is dedication. I guess thats why her stuff is amazing and mine are just annoying!!!

I have only 7 spots left for the second night at PRA Imaging on the 11th of November, a week today. This and the one in Rockingham on the 22nd will be my last for the year. This is a pic of G cut and pasted on the soup can. I was very impressed with the photo of the can as it was shot with the 135mm f2 L series. Thanks to Mathew Beetson from Canon for lending us some gear for the weekend. How is the bokeh, magnificent, and definitely a lens I will be looking at adding to the collection. The soup was David Bettini’s. He lived on this stuff and packet custard. Funny as hell, and really healthy too!! The poor bugger slept in his car, across the two front seats, he is a pretty big bloke and I cracked up the first morning when I looked in and saw him crumpled up in that small cab. He was happy though and a true survivor. I need a little more comfort for me old bones!!! And girls he is single too if you want a rugged country boy!

Just got back from the emergency ward in Albany. Had a nasty fall from the top of Bluff Knoll. Snap the lens off the camera and broke some ribs. Luckily one of the boys captured this image of the action………………ok its fake but was a good weekend. That lens has broken from the body but it was already broken and was added to the shot to increase the drama. We shot a series of images using my studio lights and had some fun. I was away with Paul Parin, David Bettini, Matt Galligan and my brother Michael. Got some good pics, sore legs and Michael shot some video. Expect a short podcast soon.
