If you don’t have a big lens you’d better have lots of resolution. I took this pic this morning. I couldn’t get close enough to fill the frame so I thought I’d just get what I can and crop in. As it worked out this file is as big as that from my 5D2. Have a look at the RAW image below.
Shot on the Phase One 645DF, P65 back with the 150mm f/2.8 IF Phase lens.

What lenses are you using with the beast.?
Sorry just read it again.
That’s cheating. hehe
Prick!
hehe thanks guys, nothing I like better than showing off!!
Nice, but remember this, mate: When you are fishing, it isn’t the length of the rod, it’s how you wiggle the worm. Superior equipment is nice to have, but you have to have the vision to go with it. I’ve seen far too many folks here in the States that go out and spend huge amounts of money on the best equipment and come back with worse images than a kid with a point-and-shoot who has the heart to climb the rock or wade the swamp to get the shot he (or she) sees in his soul.
too right! im still using a 400D!
hahaha but still gettin the job done
true Steve, don’t worry, I’ll give that worm a good wiggle!! haha
very cool! looking forward to seeing what you can do with it up north next month! (from your blog of course…)
So will it be a Phase One hanging around your neck at PMA this year Christian. You might as well show off to the whole country!!! Just hide it when you walk past the Canon and Nikon stands.
Glad you have your new beast mate and I look fwd to seeing you reach a new level of motivation which will in turn lead to some amazing images!
Congrat’s Christian on your new love! Nothing like new equipment to fire up some serious action. Images look fantastic. Will have to check out the full file’s next time I am past your way.
Bigger Mac to run it all??
Enjoy
David
how the heck are you gonna stitch these? it’ll produce a 3 or so gigabyte file.
Awesome camera though, hows the ISO?
So, it will be time for another drobo… I hope you are saving pennies, you might be buying more storage on a more regular basis
Hi Christian,
Sounds like you’re having fun with the new toy!
Jamie
Bla, bla, bla, whatever…
(I WANT one!)
awesome stuff mate… does it mean that you wont need to stitch pano’s anymore?
Don’t tell your wife about this thing you’ve fallen in love with!
Let me know if your selling any of your canon lenses!
Even a 600mm doesn’t get you close enough sometimes!
Great abstract Christian. New gear sounds awesome!
Cheers
Dave
was just reading your posts about Karijini and thought this was pretty funny.
“Peter should have his p65 back for his Mamiya so will be showing off with that. I will try to outdo him with stitching techniques to see if we can approach the quality he will be getting.”
hehe funny how things change!
Love it, that bird looks awesome . . .
