Sugarloaf Rock, Not another one!

Sugarloaf Rock

Sugarloaf Rock

Ok, Ok I know this place has been shot to death but it is in my backyard in fact only a 10 minute drive from my front door. I had the choice of going for a bike ride in 80kmph winds or go take some pics. Sorry to my riding buddies, work got in the way! Some times you just have to leave the lycra at the door.

Shot with the Phase One of course. Unfortunately as this was a 30 second exposure the image isn’t as sharp as I would have liked also I didn’t stack the focus on this one. I will print it today and take to the Phase one night being held at Team Digital. If you want to see it in the flesh come and say hello.

P65+, 45mm Phase lens, 645df and my trusty Gitzo tripod that I am falling in love with!

It’s Here, Photoshop CS5

13 Apr 2010 at 7:14pm

Photoshop CS5

Well hopefully this version will be better than the last. My experience was a little average with CS4 and it had some weird little glitches that would pop up and annoy me from time to time.

Les says that Photoshop was dumbed down in cs4 for the consumer market that didn’t really have a serious interest in colour and getting it right. Hopefully it has been fixed as a lot of people that know their sh1t were pissed off with that decision. Luckily I don’t know my sh1t so it didn’t affect me too much!! haha.

Benny at Team Digital said CS5 for him is Puppet Warp. He talked about how it can make a limp flower stand tall again, imagine what it will do for the porn industry!

Has anyone tried it yet, CS5 I mean, not the porn industry!! Keep it clean…………….. actually!!! Nah forget it!

The first person to get CS5 on their computer has to write a review for this blog, don’t worry it can sound dumb, I will be able to understand it then. The prize will be a personally signed Muzz Factor Joke book, with all your favourite muzzisms.

Took this pic when last in Port Hedland on the Pilbara Project with Peter Eastway, Tony Hewitt, Les Walkling and my bro Michael Fletcher. Liked the simplicity and graphic nature of the shot. Has a bit of the Beetles album cover about it,,, ok a very small bit!!

Turning Japanese With Denis Glennon

12 Apr 2010 at 9:14am

Dear Christian,
I am arranging an exclusive photo tour to Hokkaido, Japan, with my US-based colleague and professional wildlife photographer Robert O’Toole, in Feb/Mar 2011.
There will be a maximum of twelve photographers, likely to be six from Australia and six from USA; should be a great learning experience not to mention the joy of travelling with a group of talented photographers.
The focus will be on the captivating snow monkeys, Steller’s eagles, landscapes, culture and more.
To see further details of Robert’s work click on: http://www.robertotoole.com/
If you would be kind enough to let your colleagues know about the tour, through your website, this would be much appreciated and if anyone is interested I will keep them updated on dates, costs etc.
The tour will last 10 -12 days.
Thank You,

This is a great opportunity to photograph Japan and from what I have been told it is an amazing place to travel. Hope you can get along to it.

Tasmanian Workshop

7 Apr 2010 at 12:05pm

Well it seems as though Tasmania is a pretty popular destination. We have filled half of the places in the first day. If you are thinking of a brilliant holiday, to a island renowned for its photographic beauty, now is the time to book.

I am going with my family and will be taking extra time to photograph the rest of the island. I have been to Tasmania twice but never as a landscape photographer. I can’t wait to capture some of those epic places

100% RAW Mega pickles!!

Mark Stothard & Les Walkling

Well Tony you asked for it so here is a great example of a untouched image from the Phase One. What better way to show the ability of this camera than with my two mentors. Mark for his go for it motivation skills and Les for being the smartest photographer I have ever met. These two guys have changed my life and are good mates. Thanks fellas.

Now, so what you say, a couple of guys standing in the middle of the road. Did I mention it was raining. Have a look at the 100% crop. That says it all. And when I say it was raining it wasn’t even heavy enough to get you wet. Those drops were miniscule.

Rottnest Island

Rottnest Island

I know this came out looking a bit like a Peter Eastway, must be because we both use the P65! Shot this image 5 times then blended the different focusing planes into one mother of a sharp image thanks to Helicon Focus. Going to print this one up tomorrow and take to the Phase One night being held at Team Digital. If you want to see the detail come along on the night.

Shot with the lovely Schneider 80mm with the p65+ and the 645DF
