Off to Sydney

26 Feb 2012 at 12:58pm

I am heading to Sydney this afternoon, sitting at Perth Airport now waiting to board. Tomorrow is the official media launch of the X-Pro1. I am talking along with Michael Coyne about our experiences with the great new camera from Fuji.

From there I am heading to Alice Springs for a couple of days to grab an image for Australian Geographic. Should be great fun, never been to The Alice before.

All our Pilbara Project Photographers Cut exhibition have been printed. The framer has them now. More news on that exhibition next week. Never before seen images from myself, Les Walkling, Peter Eastway and Tony Hewitt.

The team at Ninety Degrees 5 have wrapped up the final shoot for South West Light. Looking at what we have so far the exhibition is going to be something to behold. That exhibition is still being planned but expect something mid year.

The next stop is the Kimberley, The True North cruise is in April followed by our Karijini workshop. There is still one spot going then we are fully booked. Let me know if you want to come.

Did I mention my beautiful new Wacom Cintiq 24 HD? Now that is a thing of beauty. If you call yourself a true artistic photographer who uses Photoshop to create images, this is for you. No longer are you separated from your images, you now edit straight on to them. The feeling is so natural

Alice Springs is an eye opener, mate! It is a microcosm of the best and worst of Aboriginal culture and truly unforgettable. The area around Alice is absolutely stunning and you’ll have a hard time picking out your best work as it is all so good!

The Cintiq is a marvel, but I told you you’d love it. It certainly fits your image processing routine to a tee.

2013, mate. That’s when we shall return. I’d be on a flight for the True North and then Karajini if I could.

    Enjoy!!!

Sounds like another awesome adventure ahead of you! I’ve been following your work for a while now and have been so inspired. Thanks for sharpening the craft and sharing your passion.

I’m particularly interested in your experience with the X-Pro 1. Will you be posting new images soon?

    Thanks again!

I thought that was you in the lounge on Saturday, not many in WA carrying a case with Phase One on the side!
