Lonely Planet’s Best in Asia Pacific 2019

Down South is Lonely Planet’s Best in Asia Pacific 2019 ! How awesome is that?!  Of course, I’ve always known that. It’s why I live in Dunsborough. If you haven’t visited yet, then you definitely should. Maybe wait until summer though. It’s a bit wet and cold at the moment.
This is what Lonely Planets had to say – “Take one look at Meelup Beach and you’ll wonder where it’s been all your life: the West Australian bush parts to reveal ocean the hue of a Bombay Sapphire bottle, which is typical of the coastline stretching from Margaret River to the state’s south. Beyond the sand, some of the country’s slickest wineries, breweries and restaurants lie between tracts of tall-tree forest and kangaroo-dotted farmland.”

How different do we react to our surroundings?

How different do we react to our surroundings. These two images were taken on the same day. We were in Perth for a wedding so I took the camera up to take some photos on Sunday morning. The black and white image is one of those I took. Hand held through the car window and rain trying to convey the scene that was in front of me and the mood I was feeling. Later that day when we got home I decided to go and finish the day on a positive note. I went to my favourite beach at Cape Naturaliste and took the image on the right. Same day, same camera, same photographer. The only thing that changed was my attitude. I love that photography can take you away and make you focus on something that is good and positive.
