Honeycombs Beach, South Western Australia
It’s easy to take where you live for granted.
Having visitors over Christmas reminds me of how lucky we are in the South West. It really is spectacular.
We have amazing beaches, cafes and restaurants, as well as wineries, forests, shopping and a fantastic community.

I loved this bridge, it is so bold and typical of the cool things they do in Melbourne. Who is running our city, and why is it so plain??? The morning was cold and foggy and I had two dodgy characters checking me out as I took this pic. Made me realize I was in a big city, in a dodgy area and that I was probably stupid for wandering around. This is gang heartland after all, underbelly style!! Luckily it was too cold to hang around for too long so I jumped back in my awesome Hyundi Getz hire car and zoomed off. I’m into white skys at the moment. Something about the simplicity and cleanness, a bit like Tommy P’s mind!!!

Ok it is a bit of a swipe at Flemmings Hawk Dreaming but it just seemed to work so nicely. This is a pic of my mate Mark taking pics at Oxer lookout where all the gorges meet. A great place to wear shoes with grip. Mark had his thongs on so he was safe!!!! I love this place and have to thank Mark for adding scale to my shot. Now if only he was wearing a bikini………………..and yes was a blonde………………….all right, female too!! 🙂

Another from that spectacular sunset the other weekend. It’s all about the light, don’t bother trying to make it up in photoshop, light like this is pretty hard to replicate. Taken with the 5D 2 as per usual. I don’t use my pano head anymore, in fact I have sold it. Wish I had saved myself the money. I didn’t know that I could get away with stitching without one though. Hope you like!

Going through my old film images that need to be worked I found this little gem, I think it is George Street??? Matt will know! I loved the light coming up the road. As it bounced off the surrounding buildings it created a neat look. No stitch, not digital all film baby!! Makes me want to puke!!!

I was saying to my brother, gee I hope the guys in Perth are getting this light. Then I thought, hmmm, what are they going to stick in front of such an awesome sky??? I am so spoilt here I take it for granted. This afternoon was one of the best in a long time. No wind and a big swell. There were some surfers getting into some serious pits just to the right of this shot. Really awesome to watch. Shame this won’t see the light of day for a while. Am going to release new stuff every 3 months with an exhibition at my Dunsborough gallery. Don’t forget the 21st, for the opening of the exhibition in Mandurah, also get your orders in now for the iTNFP tee shirts. Go on, you know you want too.

A vertical stitch from this morning. It was just beautiful. Still warm with lots of nice cloud.

Went to Margaret River with a flat battery on Tuesday. Was hoping to do some walking to get to some places I haven’t been but realised the effort might be in vain. Decided to stay close to the car park and shoot the surf. It was a great day for it as the swell was pretty big. Battery held out so I could have gone further anyway. Still it was a dodgy sunset.
