A Bridge Too Far

19 Aug 2009 at 5:59am

melb bridge

I loved this bridge, it is so bold and typical of the cool things they do in Melbourne. Who is running our city, and why is it so plain??? The morning was cold and foggy and I had two dodgy characters checking me out as I took this pic. Made me realize I was in a big city, in a dodgy area and that I was probably stupid for wandering around. This is gang heartland after all, underbelly style!! Luckily it was too cold to hang around for too long so I jumped back in my awesome Hyundi Getz hire car and zoomed off. I’m into white skys at the moment. Something about the simplicity and cleanness, a bit like Tommy P’s mind!!!

True North Video by Michael

18 May 2009 at 8:56am

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/4685373] This is an awesome video by Michael on his recent trip on True North cruising through the Kimberleys. If you ever thought about getting on for a cruise make sure it is when I am running my FREE photographic workshop for guests. This snippet of the action should get the adrenaline going! Make sure you watch this in Hi Def in Vimeo. All shot with the 5D2. Hopefully a company who wants to promote the RED cameras will throw one Michaels way for a bit of a review, not that the Canon gear isn’t any good!! :-0)

kazzas-3 Got some exciting news about Karijini for next year that is going to be big and not to be missed. Will tell all soon. This is a pic from Handrail pool in Weano Gorge, Karijini. A great spot if your there at the right time of day and year for that matter. I have it all worked out after 6 or 7 trips to this spot.

Karijini Dreaming

17 Mar 2009 at 5:27am

karijini-pic Ok it is a bit of a swipe at Flemmings Hawk Dreaming but it just seemed to work so nicely. This is a pic of my mate Mark taking pics at Oxer lookout where all the gorges meet. A great place to wear shoes with grip. Mark had his thongs on so he was safe!!!! I love this place and have to thank Mark for adding scale to my shot. Now if only he was wearing a bikini………………..and yes was a blonde………………….all right, female too!! 🙂

Rio Tinto

16 Mar 2009 at 7:17am

Sorry can’t show you the pic anymore as we can’t show Rio’s plants and technology off to the masses, that is you guys and girls. This is the first pic from my Rio Tinto job. It was good fun and my first time on a mine site, geez they are pretty strict on the safety stuff!! This was a 6 image stitch taken on the horizontal. It was an amazing plant and looked mint at night. Unfortunately we couldn’t get close to the big machinery but weren’t there to photograph it anyway.

More from Wyadup Rocks

23 Feb 2009 at 4:29am

wyadup-rocks-3 Another from that spectacular sunset the other weekend. It’s all about the light, don’t bother trying to make it up in photoshop, light like this is pretty hard to replicate. Taken with the 5D 2 as per usual. I don’t use my pano head anymore, in fact I have sold it. Wish I had saved myself the money. I didn’t know that I could get away with stitching without one though. Hope you like!

Michaels Video of Hamelin Bay etc!

22 Jan 2009 at 3:58am

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/2904752] This is another one from Michael all shot with the 5D mark II this time. Love the shallow depth of field and the lighthouse shots are superb. Check it out. It has been hosted on Vimeo HD which is a big deal. Will be getting thousands of hits on it per day hopefully. Makes my piddly 956 hits a bit average!!

5D Mark II loves going to the beach

8 Jan 2009 at 7:23am

surfs-up Went to Margaret River with a flat battery on Tuesday. Was hoping to do some walking to get to some places I haven’t been but realised the effort might be in vain. Decided to stay close to the car park and shoot the surf. It was a great day for it as the swell was pretty big. Battery held out so I could have gone further anyway. Still it was a dodgy sunset.

5d mark II Dream machine

7 Dec 2008 at 12:58pm

gallery-32002 Just to show you the awesomeness of this new beast of mine I thought I’d post a pic of my gallery. “Big deal I hear you say”! Well what if I told you it was shot as a jpeg?, “so what”. Well how about it was at f1.4,,,, “woopy bloody do”, ok what if I said it was at 3200 iso, “hmm getting better” and to top it all off, handheld at 9pm tonight. Are you interested yet??? Not only that I shot it in sRGB so the colours could have been better. I love this camera, the video we are getting from it is superb and the way you can use it in low light is just brilliant. Still there was some noise present, more than I expected but who cares, the old noise ninja will fix that. Get your orders in folks, Brendan at PRA Imaging will be more than happy to take your money.
