STOP THE PRESS – IT”S FULL
Nick Rains and I are doing it again, Bunker Bay 2011.
There are only 9 spots left for the 22nd and 23rd of January 2011 to be held at the Bunker Bay Resort and it hasn’t been advertised yet. This workshop has been very popular and last January this filled very quickly. The cost is $995 for the two days. Doesn’t include Accommodation but includes morning and afternoon teas and lunch. We will have your photography to a professional standard by the end of the weekend. Hands on shooting and photoshop techniques will be the order of the day with advanced colour management techniques and printing.
We will have an Epson 3880 printer with us and will print out images we have shot over the weekend. There will be 3 or 4 shoots as well as the classroom workshops all in the luxury of the Bunker Bay Resort. A special rate for staying at he resort is available for those who don’t want to have to drive in from Dunsborough or elsewhere. Bookings can be made with the resort just mention you are on our workshop.
Nick will show you the subtleties of RAW conversion, how to master Lightroom or Camera Raw and get the perfect file every time. What this guy doesn’t know about photography and post production isn’t worth teaching.
I will be “butchering pixels”, in a good way, to show you how to get that WOW light in your images, the software I use and how I use it. You could say we have it covered what ever your style, clean and pristine or full on Glitz and glamour! If you like what Nick and I do we will teach you.
To book got to Nicks Website . Get in quick for this one.
Comments from recent Bunker Bay Workshop :
“Rated individually both Nick Rains and Christian Fletcher are easily placed amongst the top six landscape photographers worldwide with immensely successful careers, and a magical ability to pre-visualise and turn the most ordinary of scenes into beautiful works of photographic art.
Now working together as a team enlightening, enthusing and empowering the next generation of photographers these two guys offer what is arguably the most comprehensive and valuable of learning experiences currently available worldwide.
From capture to process to print these two good-humoured wizards have undoubtedly now influenced my career and enabled me to take my own photography to a higher level that I’d long aspired towards but struggled to attain.

All those who have booked on True North for the Australia Day function at Rottnest, I can now confirm that we have secured a Jet Ranger from Rotovation and the Pilot will be Dave Adminson. Dave has flown many a sortie for Mark when he was a Skydiving Santa and is a very competant pilot! This is not the chopper BTW, but it is the same sort of thing. They all look the same anyway, don’t they??
The costs are coming in at $190 per person for a 15 minute sortie around the island. We are only going to put 3 photographers in the aircraft at once and the doors will be off, so each photographer will get a total birdseye and unrestricted view of the island.
Of course you will be taking off an landing on the True North and that is an experience in itself!
The day will start with guests joining us at 1030 hrs to 1100 hrs at the latest. True North will then cruise off and the jet Ranger will join us as we leave the heads. On the way over we will conduct a short vessel safety brief followed by a heli safety brief.
Tutorials will start not long after we arrive at Rottnest and the heli flights will also start then so that we can get through the numbers should everyone want to take up the opportunity to have an awesome scenic flight over Rotto.
We will fit lunch in sometime around 1300 hrs, I reckon and then the day will just be more of the same. Rotating between the tutors to hear their words of wisdom, heli excursions, dinghy excursions for those who would like to go ashore and generally enjoying the ambience of True North.
Please either respond to Marks blog, or send him an email at email@example.com if you will be taking up the heli option so that I have an idea of numbers. Of course if there is not enough interest in the heli, we will can it and just run things from the vessel, so please let Mark know.
Not far now to Australia Day and some fun times on True North. Stay safe between now and then!!!

I have been under the pump to run one more workshop before heading off to the East coast to shoot the place up, so here it is. To be held on the 5th of May at 6.30pm at PRA Imaging. I’m sure Brendan will have some super red hot deals on the night too if anyone wants to buy a new Nikon or Canon! See the brochure for more details. Hope you can get to it. Sorry to those who just drove to Dunsborough to attend the last workshop, think of it as a forced holiday and I was doing you a favour. :-0) Details of PRA can be found here.
