The Golden Shopping Trolley Awards

16 Aug 2011 at 9:23am

Team Digital is very pleased announce the Golden Shopping Trolley Awards or Photo competition.

This has been in the making for some time , the awards them self come from discussions with Christian Fletcher. Basically how to have a competition and have a lot fun doing it.

The theme is Urban Landscape or “Landscapes that have been touched by man” . Im sure you will all agree that this gives you a lot scope to come up with something out of the square.

We did want to make this competition different not only from the subject point of view but also the way it is judged. So we have came up with the idea of having the top 20 images judged live at Gala Evening ( Beer and Sausage Sizzle  at Team ) held on the 29th of October starting at 6.00pm  So you can come along and hear what the judges had to say about the images . Also the 20 finalist will be printed on Epson of course . And during the night we will have a large screen displaying all the entrants.

What could be better than that , how about a whole swag of prizes over $ 4000.00 worth
1st Prize is shiny new Epson Pro 3880 A2 printer valued at $ 2195.00
2nd Prize is a brand new Manfrotto Carbon Fibre Tripod 055CXPro4 valued at $ 795.00
3rd Prize is the Complete collection of NIK’s Software valued at $ 699.00

Wait there’s more, we have two other section. these are extra sections so you will entered into the main section as well.
The first is the X-100 Award which basically the best Urban landscape shot on the amazing Fuji X-100. This is a mounted Fujiflex print up to 60 x 90 cm valued at $ 550.00.
The second is the best Urban Landscape image that contains a shopping trolley. Canson have sponsored this section with a $ 250 media pack.

Now cost of entry $ 25.00 which allows you to enter 4 images and this includes a ticket to the gala evening.

You can put your entries in via a link on the Team Digital blog. That will be up and running by the end of the  week. Entries must be by the 21st of October.

Big thanks goes to the True North Crew and Skipper Brad. Thanks for giving up your Australia Day AGAIN, it was brilliant service as usual. To those people who signed up for a cruise, lucky buggers, it you need personal photo tuition please let the owners know, I am more than happy to help out, although I think Markie will put his hand up for that, Doh!!!

Also a huge thanks to the Sponsors, The boys at Team Digital, Epson, Roddy Thomas and the amazing F-Stop bags and Fitzgerald Photo labs. The Landscape 500 Results

17 Nov 2010 at 12:50pm

To all those who are wondering who won the Landscape 500 we are just waiting for the final judging to be done. The judges are very busy people and they have to fit it in between work commitments. The word I have so far is there are some amazing images that have been submitted. I can’t wait to see the results myself.

I am hoping it will be finished up in the next few days but then of course I will be heading to Tasmania so I will sort things when I get some internet coverage.

Thanks for your patients, it is a big thing putting on a competition, bigger than I thought.

Keep an eye on the blog for the results. Or if you get an email from me personally you have won a prize.

Today and Tomorrow To Enter “The Landscape 500”

30 Oct 2010 at 11:08am

With only 239 people entering this competition so far the odds of picking up a prize are pretty good. Now if you think you have the goods, $50 is a pittance to pay for an awesome prize. Remember you have to be in it to win it and the judges want to see something unusual, different or just bloody brilliant. Go for it before it is too late.

Go to www.landscape500.com to enter.

4 Days to go to Enter the Landscape 500

28 Oct 2010 at 9:08am

Don’t forget your entries into the Landscape 500

So far we have only 200 entries so that is pretty good odds. Remember even if you don’t win every photo is scored by the 4 judges. It is a great way to find out just exactly how your images are rated by four of the best in the industry. Nick Rains, Tom Putt, Peter Eastway and David Evans. Between them there are decades of knowledge.

Attached is a photo of an old ute I found inland from Noosa. I gave myself a task, photograph something that could have been shot years ago and make it look like it! Think it worked ?

This is a photo that could be entered into the competition.

Disk Aid

12 Aug 2010 at 7:25pm

I found this cool little program last night called Disk Aid that allows you to copy your iphone photos and videos straight on to your desktop. You can then edit them as you would with any other file from your dslr. What I really wanted to do though is make a movie from my iphone videos and typical Apple make it hard to get anything off of these devices. Luckily 3rd party apps come to the rescue. I knocked up a imove clip in minutes from my iphone. It was very cool. Here is a pic shot from the iphone and edited in photoshop. Did you know you can get a usable 8×10 print from these puppies? Cool.

Don’t forget to enter the comp. The Landscape 500

I am working on a deal with Jetstar at the moment which is looking good. Basically means who ever wins first prize will get free flights from any major capital in Australia that Jetstar flys from. Cool.

The Landscape 500 Prizes – Christian Fletcher One on One

9 Aug 2010 at 9:45am

Now at first glance this might seem like a really great prize and you would probably prefer to come fourth just so you can listen to me bang on about photography for a day, but I’ll let you in on a little secret………………. ok it is the best prize! Imagine getting to suck my brain dry for the day, ok that might only take a couple of hours and it will be more baron than the governments view of James Price Point. Still that will be a cool couple of hours. I then turn into a blibbering idiot. Hang on, I’m that anyway, maybe I get worse?

Anyway what you will get is a morning and arvo shoot and the rest of the time we will go through my workflow and techniques one on one. We will have lots of computer time and if you don’t come away full of enthusiasm and knowledge then I have failed the mission. Wow I’m even getting myself excited.

Maybe we should call this the MEGA PRIZE!!!

Thanks to Markie Mark Stothard for the pick of some great big wonderful guy!
