This Saturday I board the magnificent True North for the inaugural Kimberley PODAS workshop. It has been a while in the making and congratulations to all involved with getting this up and going. From a simple conversation I had with Kevin Raber that went something like, “man you have to do one of these workshops in the Kimberley, and the only way to see the Kimberley is on True North!!” Kevin said, get me a price, and from that the seed was planted. Markie Mark did the fine tuning with Kevin and the rest of the Northstar team.
I think the participants on this adventure are going to experience the best workshop imaginable. Five star floating luxury, one of the last true wilderness areas, the best instructors, Kevin Raber and Michael Reichmann of Luminous Landscape, Art Wolfe and myself. And the best Kimberley guide True North Markie Mark Stothard. Special guest Thomas Knoll the creator of Photoshop will also be there. It could only get better with a seven seat helicopter on board so we don’t have to walk too much! Cocktail bar, mud crabs, Barra, sunshine, epic waterfalls, I have to stop before I get too excited!!! But I save the best for last. Every person on the boat gets the use of a Phase one camera system. How good is that!
Whilst we are on board everyone on the PODAS workshop will be uploading their images to the True North Facebook page. We will be running a competition, whoever gets the most likes on their photos each day gets a special prize. So what we are asking is everyone tunes in and likes their favourite photograph or photographs. It will be a great way to follow what we are getting up to and might make you think about booking on the next trip when Phase One and the Kimberley meet!
