Things that fly!

heli steep island

heli picnic

I have had so many heli flights on this trip I feel like I could fly one of those things. Rainor our pilot is a legend and will put the heli in our shots when ever we want. The pic of Steep island was pretty cool with him hovering just in the shot. Michael was on the heli taking video of us on the hill. Expect to see that on Vimeo soon.
Two days to go, what a bummer.

One lens sold one to go!

15 Apr 2009 at 1:20am

spools24-701 Here is Neals lens he won’t be needing now he has a 50mm f/1.2. This is still a very good lens as you can see by Neals images.

Wanted One Good Nurturing Home

Canon Lens needs good home, somewhere it will be fed only the best light, taken to the best locations and treated with kid gloves everywhere it goes. This lens has been spoilt rotten over the past 12 months and now knows no other way of being treated. So if you can you can treat this lens well it will treat you well in return.
Complete with lens cap and lens hood, no original box sorry.

Lens Type : Canon 24-70 L f/2.8 lens

I am asking $1100.00. Will including shipping anywhere within Australia.

Pretty much all my images on spoolphotography.com have been taken with this lens.

Interested parties can either call me on 0406 408 317 or email me at info (@) spoolphotography dot com

Cheers

Neal

Rod has a bargain going, if anyone wants a new kick-arse 50mm f/1.2

I am wanting to sell ( regretably ) my one month old 50mm 1.2L Canon lens. I brought it from Discount Digital here in Sydney approx one month ago. There is a genuine reason for selling, and I dont really want to sell it, but for anyone that is serious you can email me on studio@rodthomas.com.au or call 0417 677966 for further information. Included with this lens will be a 72mm adaptor ring for anyone that has the Lee filter system and Ill pay for freight anywhere in Australia. I am asking only $1800, which is a saving of about $300. If anyone needs a recommendation for this lens, I am sure Christian will vouch that they are truly an awesome piece of glass.

This is my favorite lens and the one I use for most of my shots, get in quick!! Rod I like Redback!!!

East Coast Workshops

30 Mar 2009 at 7:12am

cn793d I will be on the East Coast for 3 months shooting for my new book on Australia. I am thinking about running my night course over there if I can get enough interest. I will be in all states and the NT hopefully so if you could let me know if you would come that would help my decision to do them. It will be the same as what I hold in WA, i.e. cost $250 and includes free wine, Desert and a workbook. Not to mention lots of fun and learning.

This image was from a shoot I had last week with Mark. I worked this image for 1.5 hours then resized it for the web. Then I went and saved it that size and closed it down realizing I didn’t do a SAVE AS. Fudge’n Hell. Always hit save as, always hit save as, always hit save as………….

Also just clicked over 150,000 hits in 15 months. Man have I typed my little hands off!!!

Rio Tinto Is Go

20 Mar 2009 at 1:25am

[vimeo http://www.vimeo.com/3769695] This is a vid Michael put together from our Rio job last week. Mostly shot with the Canon tilt shift lenses kindly donated by Canon and Team Digital. Thanks Ben for getting us a couple to try. If your too young to know about the Thunderbirds (Stakky) then look it up on google. Enjoy.

Due to the sensitive nature of this video we have had to remove it from circulation. We don’t want to be sued by Rio Tinto now do we !!
